Working Principle For Coagulation Analyzer
What is coagulation?
Coagulation is the process by which a blood clot is formed in order to stop bleeding. It involves two main pathways – extrinsic and intrinsic pathways. The extrinsic pathway is initiated by tissue factor produced as a result of damaged blood vessels.
Coagulation Analyzer
A blood coagulometer is an analyzer used to test the coagulation efficiency of blood so as to diagnose and assess bleeding disorders such as hemophilia or to monitor patients who are taking anticoagulant medicines such as aspirin, heparin, or warfarin. Coagulation analyzers provide measurement of blood platelet levels in a fast and simple process.
Working Principle
Coagulation analyzer its’ operation principle is based on the clotting method using a monitoring ball and magnetic transducers. The coagulometer consists of a recording unit and a unit of a thermostatic switch and a ball dosing apparatus. The device may operate off-line or may be connected to a personal computer.
